The Torah Project, Inc. is a non profit, 501(c) (3) charitable organization based in Birmingham, Alabama. The Torah Project, Inc. was founded in the belief that with the instruction and guidance of a committed adult mentor each student can obtain the keys necessary to unlock and achieve his or her full potential.
Our mission here at The Torah Project, Inc. is to provide at-risk high school students in the greater Birmingham area with the necessary life skills needed to become responsible adults. These skills include, but are not limited to, healthy conflict resolution, building self-esteem, strengthening communication skills, setting career goals, affording opportunities to pursue post-secondary education, and providing situations to network with representatives from reputable companies in the area. We hope that by learning these life skills, the students that participate in The Torah Project, Inc. will grow to be more empowered and that they too will make a positive difference in their community.

How long have you been in business?
We were incorporated in 2007 and we received our tax-exempt status in 2009.
What is your primary product or service?
We are a non profit organization dedicated to pairing inner-city high school students with caring, adult mentors in their fields of interest.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
In 2007, I’d just graduated college and I had to make a decision about what I wanted to do with my life. I knew that I wanted to end every work day knowing I’d made a positive difference in one way or another. After a lot of thought and general conversations about the world around us, working with high school students made the most sense. I have a Bachelor's of Arts in Political Science from Samford University and my area of expertise is Business Creation and Management.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Unlike other mentoring organizations, we work closely with the administration of the schools we target; that way we can better assist the students involved.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One currently have one location in Birmingham, AL, but we plan to partner with other organizations in the area and eventually start other chapters around the country.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept tax-deductible donations by check or cash to address provided, or major credit cards at our web address, www.thetorahprojectinc.org.

The President/CEO is Marquita Hall and she operates the facility along with the organization's board of directors.
